CURRENCY

Currency in Croatia is Croatia Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 Lipa). There are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Kuna banknotes. Coins come in value of 1, 2 and 5 Kuna and 10, 20 and 50 lipa. Foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, post offices and at most tourist agencies, hotels and camping grounds. Please note that you may take the Croatian currency back with you but you will not be able to exchange it back to any other currency as Kuna is not convertible within the EU.

 

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Standards of mobile telephony are equal as in countries of the European union. Public telephones can be used only with phone cards, which can be purchased in Post Offices and at newsstands. The telephone code for Croatia is +385.

Istria is on the 45th parallel, precisely halfway from the North Pole to the equator. The Istrian peninsula has a mild Mediterranean climate with warm dry summers and mild winters. Average insolation is 2,388 sunny hours a year. The average temperature in September is from 12 to 20 oC.

TRANSPORTATION

All participants that have reserved the accommodation through the Department for Admittance, Registration, Accommodation and Accreditation, are entitled to use transportation services from accommodation facilities to sports facilities. Participants arriving to Pula and Trieste airports (to airport Ronchi dei Legionari) transfer to Rovinj will be organized with no extra charges. Other participants arriving to other airports will be entitled to transfer services with additional payment. Transfer includes transportation to Accreditation Center located in premises of the Boksit parking lot (Valdibora).
